 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

FAFSA is a crucial step in securing financial aid for college. It's a free application that determines your eligibility for federal grants, loans, and work-study programs. Here's what you need to know:

• How to Apply: Complete the FAFSA online at fafsa.ed.gov. Gather necessary documents, including tax information, social security numbers, and other financial records.

• Deadlines: FAFSA deadline is March 2nd, but it's essential to apply as early as possible. The application opens in December and some aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Benefits: FAFSA can provide access to various forms of aid, including grants that don't require repayment, low-interest federal loans, and work-study opportunities.

Cal Grants 

Cal Grants are state-funded grants available to eligible California residents pursuing higher education. Here's what you should know:

• Eligibility: To apply for a Cal Grant, submit your verified GPA and a completed FAFSA by the March 2nd deadline. There are different types of Cal Grants, including those for recent high school graduates, community college transfers, and adults returning to school.

• Award Amounts: Cal Grants cover tuition and fees at qualifying institutions in California. The amount varies depending on factors like financial need, the type of college you attend, and the grant program for which you qualify.

• Deadline: Cal-grant deadline is April 2nd, but it is important to do apply as soon as possible.

• Renewal: Cal Grants can be renewable for up to four years, provided you meet academic progress and income requirements.

CA Dream Act Application (CADAA)

The Dream Act allows eligible undocumented students and students with a valid DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) status to apply for state financial aid in California. By completing the California Dream Act Application (CADAA), eligible students can access certain types of financial aid, including state-based grants, scholarships, and institutional aid.
