Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports 
PBIS is a proactive framework used in schools to promote positive behavior and create supportive learning environments. Rather than focusing mainly on punishment, PBIS emphasizes teaching and reinforcing good behavior to improve students outcome.

How to Reach Out:

  • Ask your teacher for a pass

  • Visit the counseling office or PBIS team room F-4

  • Fill out a self-referral form 

  • Talk to any trusted adult in the school

 

When to Reach Out to a PBIS Counselor:

  1. Struggling with Behavior Expectations

    • Trouble following school rules or routines

    • Repeatedly receiving warnings or referrals

  2. Feeling Overwhelmed or Anxious

    • Difficulty managing stress, anxiety, or emotions in school

    • Trouble focusing or staying calm in class

  3. Conflicts with Peers or Teachers

    • Ongoing bullying, peer pressure, or fights

    • Difficulty communicating or resolving conflicts

  4. Needing Social Skills Support

    • Wanting help making or keeping friends

    • Difficulty working in groups or understanding social cues

  5. After Receiving Tier 2 or Tier 3 Support

    • When enrolled in a small-group or individualized behavioral intervention plan

    • To track progress or adjust strategies

  6. Not Feeling Safe or Supported

    • Experiencing unsafe situations at school or home

    • Needing someone trusted to talk to about personal concerns
